How Is Neck/Chin Liposuction Performed?
After your consultation with Dr. Lee, he will create a customized surgical plan that details exactly how your procedure will be performed. This will vary from patient to patient, especially if other procedures are performed along with your neck/chin liposuction.
In most cases, neck/chin liposuction is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia; however, if you have combined your procedures, Dr. Lee may opt for general anesthesia.
During the neck/chin liposuction procedure, Dr. Lee gently removes excess fat cells to provide a slimmer contour to the neck so that it is more symmetrical and in harmony with the surrounding areas. He will make small incisions around the treatment area in order to insert a small cannula to remove the fat. If necessary, a small incision is also created underneath the chin to remove excess fat from beneath the platysma muscle, which can contribute significantly to the fullness of the neck.
Once the fat has been sufficiently removed and the ideal contour is created, Dr. Lee will carefully and expertly close the incisions.
